What Is Mae Wang National Park?
About one hour south of Chiang Mai by car, Mae Wang National Park is an outdoor paradise offering trekking, bird watching, camping, and more. When we took HATAGO guests here, everyone was speechless at the sheer scale of nature.

Pha Chor – Thailand's Grand Canyon
The park's highlight is Pha Chor, a 30-meter-tall sandstone cliff formation carved over thousands of years by wind and water erosion. Often called "Thailand's Grand Canyon," Pha Chor is breathtaking in scale.
Morning light is ideal for photography. Walking paths are maintained through the formations, though sturdy shoes are recommended as some areas can be slippery.

Rivers & Waterfalls
Beautiful streams and waterfalls dot the park. Swimming is possible near some falls — the dry season (November–February) offers calmer waters suitable for families, while the wet season (June–October) brings more dramatic cascades.

Camping Under the Stars
While a day trip is wonderful, camping overnight to see the star-filled sky is truly special. Far from city light pollution, the night sky here is spectacular. Camping equipment rentals may be available (check in advance).
